The Chateau is a place of immense beauty and is truly "the real thing" for the old chateau experience. The tour of the family living quarters was exceptional. The best photographs I took on my whole trip were taken here.
I liked it all, but I can see why others might not. It has the smell of an old castle (no surprise) and not all the modern hotel amenities (elevators, etc.).

A truly authentic castle experience. Beautiful grounds and period furniture. Make sure you do the guided tour. It's rare to be able to be in such close proximity to a 600-year old castle where the owner still lives.
Nothing. But it's not the place to go if you want modern 5 star amenities such as flat screen tv, rain shower, floor heating, etc. It has an (centuries) old kind of class and style.

An an amazing hotel the family have successfully created an environment where you feel you are a guest at the chateau rather than in a hotel. The history is tangible and the setting very picturesque. The rooms are individual and in real keeping with the age and history of the chateau. The food and wine were excellent. I would recommend this to any person who wants to stay in a hotel that offers hospitality, history and luxury rather than the all too modern faceless luxury hotel.

It ia an amazing place, don't miss it!
The Hotel staff missed our reservation via booking, although as an apology they gave us a better room for the same price, but I highly recommend you to double check your booking via telephone since the staff is not very internet friendly !

Unique experience of staying in a splendid historic building in a fairytale woodland & lake setting.
Expected evening meal to be top quality given the 40 euro price tag. It wasn't...rather disappointing.

it was the most amazing chateau in an incredible setting. Although we arrived in a cloudburst we were soon greeted by the Count and friendly staff showed us our enormous room overlooking the park. Total silence was punctuated by a thunderstorm, but for absolute calm, it cannot be beaten, being miles away from any busy roads. The fact that it only has a few rooms makes it feel even more special, and the set menu supper was an essential part of the experience. To be utterly recommended.
